I think most of the attention span has to do with habit and maybe and not always: age. I think that some one who does not belong to the computer age (where kids grew up with as toddlers) and doesn't use computers for anything else other than emailing and maybe online shopping.. and prefers books and magazines to online websites,.. it is very hard to concentrate!

good example. word press is very much collective intelligence, as are google, facebook, yahoo, and most search engines. Colletive intelligence is based on the fact of people sharing what they know in a useful shape form or fashion.

You know I've always thought subscribing to such things was a waste of time and a waste of energy, but now that I think more into it, it's really an amazing thing. To be able to read up on the news, listen to your favorite tunes, check your horoscope... all the possibilities set up in just one spot?! It's an amazing web tool, that's for sure.

its so crazy that people can now subscribe to their own station and information using pod casts. There probably won't be a need for radio casts anymore, other than when theres a weather hazard or something.

Is RSS not revolutionary? I have been blown away the last couple of weeks about discovering how inefficient I am at researching, getting news, and finding entertainment online. I have hundreds of bookmarks I use to find what I'm looking for. Having all that information coming to one location is genius. I have been forcing myself to use these technologies and I’m ready to see the difference in the time I’m spending looking for what I need. What about you?

I've caught myself using PLE quite a lot lately now that I know more about what it is I'm doing. This has definitely brought more into the term for me and I thank you for giving such information. The thing I seem to agree on with most people with is, not many people will have the attention span to actually use a PLE, in which is sad to me really. It's a good investment of time and saving on the need for headache medicine.

The slogan just made me giggle for a moment. "Don't fight the internet." But that's just my mind wondering at 2 AM. This post definitely does bring more into mind for me on web 2.0, knowing now that it's "backwards compatible" having read it in your post makes more sense to me now than when I tried reading it in some of the websites. Wordings helped a lot.

I really do think PLE's are one of the best platforms for learners, at the moment I see them as a potential mainstream learning method. But as always things will change, and progress so I cant imagine how it will be in the future where people will be looking at this method as old and obsolete.
